About the role
- Senior Systems QA Testing Specialist needed for a hybrid contract role in Toronto, focusing on end-to-end testing of transit applications.
Responsibilities
- The role focuses on end-to-end systems testing across complex, integrated transit applications that support real-time operations, customer information systems, scheduling, and network services. You will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of mission-critical platforms used in large-scale public transit operations, collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors in both Agile and Waterfall environments. Key Focus Areas include: Functional, regression, smoke, UAT, and end-to-end testing; test planning, strategy development, and execution; defect tracking, analysis, and reporting using JIRA / Zephyr; API and system integration testing (Postman / SoapUI / Selenium or similar); collaboration with developers, stakeholders, and third-party vendors; support for enterprise systems including SaaS and COTS applications; non-functional testing including performance, security, usability, and compliance.
Requirements
- Must-Have Experience: – 8+ years in QA / systems testing environments – 5+ years in Agile and Waterfall delivery models – Strong hands-on experience in test case development and execution – Experience with JIRA, Zephyr, and Confluence – Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills – Degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
