About the role

  • Therapeutic Specialist driving AbbVie’s urology pharmaceutical sales across Ontario. Building healthcare-provider relationships, executing territory plans, and delivering brand performance.

Responsibilities

  • Call on Urologists, Radiation Oncologists, and Medical Oncologists treating prostate cancer
  • Call on Urologists treating overactive bladder and neurogenic detrusor overactivity associated with neurological conditions
  • Develop robust business/account plans to execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance and meet brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Support customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
  • Work within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with medical, market access, and AbbVie Care teams in a cross-functional matrix
  • Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections and concerns during face-to-face and virtual sales calls
  • Support key stakeholders’ needs, expectations, and challenges
  • Execute call plans to optimize coverage of key customers and maximize sales opportunities
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical information
  • Share market intelligence with the district manager and team members
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Commerce or equivalent
  • Minimum of three to five years in a Specialty Sales role within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Urology experience is an asset
  • Established relationships with existing HCP targets is an asset
  • Physician/account-based selling, CHE / OLA / training, managed health care or marketing experience are preferred
  • Proven track record in sales and solid presentation skills both F2F and virtually
  • Experience with iCertis, CTE/Concur, and Veeva is an asset
  • Strong ability to proactively identify customer style / behavior and quickly adapt selling approach
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Innovative problem-solving and ability to anticipate and respond to changes or challenges
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships
  • Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient with Zoom, Veeva Engage, and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends from time to time, including overnight travel
  • Expected travel within territory is 50%
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Ability to think strategically and develop a high-quality territory plan
  • Sound business judgment and ability to assess local markets and set direction
  • Ability to predict customer and competitive outcomes
  • In-depth analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with in-field team members
