About the role
- Senior Roadway Design Engineer delivering municipal roadway and transit infrastructure solutions for Arcadis. Leading technical designs, cost estimates, and multidisciplinary project packages across Western Canada.
Responsibilities
- Provide transportation engineering design and technical expertise focused on municipal roadway projects
- Perform detailed calculations, model creation, and drawing production
- Develop plans, cross-sections, pavement and curb details, engineering reports, and contract specifications
- Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates
- Review project documents for scope, presentation, and technical accuracy
- Ensure compliance with municipal standards, constructability, and procurement readiness
- Coordinate technical design delivery to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives
- Produce full design packages integrating roadway design with utilities, drainage, traffic control, and environmental requirements
- Work with engineering disciplines, technical specialists, stakeholders, and municipalities
Requirements
- Bachelor's University Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- P.Eng in Alberta
- 8-15 years of municipal infrastructure and roadway design experience at increasing levels of responsibility
- Experience with integrating new civil infrastructure with existing infrastructure will be an asset
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for design purposes is required
- Working knowledge of stormwater analysis and design
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively within diverse project teams
