Geotechnical Data Specialist building secure Azure data platforms and geotechnical analytics for AtkinsRéalis. Supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects across Canada through databases, visualization, and automation.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain geotechnical databases for efficient data storage and retrieval
Perform data analysis, modeling, and visualization to support engineering designs
Use data-manipulation software tools and programming languages, including Python and SQL, for data processing
Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and project teams to integrate geotechnical insights
Provide technical guidance on geotechnical data management, interpretation, and reporting
Keep up with industry trends and innovations in geotechnical data science
Participate on multidisciplinary teams and projects across transportation, rail and transit, energy, cities and developments, and industrial sectors
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience delivering enterprise data platforms, cloud-based data solutions, data integration, or related digital initiatives
Substantial experience in Microsoft Azure environments
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate, including business applications, automated workflows, approval processes, notifications, and integrations with Azure, Microsoft 365, and enterprise data sources
Ability to collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, data architecture, and engineering teams to define requirements, integrate systems, establish governance controls, and deliver secure, maintainable data solutions
Data analysis and data science capabilities, including dashboard development, data visualization, spatial data modelling, statistical analysis, data-quality assessment, and preparation of decision-ready insights
Database-development and automation skills using SQL, Python, or comparable scripting languages
Familiarity with geotechnical data and its engineering context is an asset
