About the role
- Senior Planner scheduling and controlling engineering and construction projects for AtkinsRéalis. Preparing baselines, resource reports, variance analyses, forecasts, and project updates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, update, and monitor project schedules across engineering and construction projects
- Provide guidance and support to lower-level planners
- Load resource and budget schedules
- Set up baseline schedules
- Issue schedules for internal and external use
- Monitor and control work progress against schedules
- Prepare and update resource requirements reports
- Report critical schedule issues
- Identify and explain variances between current schedules, plans, earned values, and forecasts
- Communicate schedule and variance information to the Project Controls Manager and Project Manager
- Present updates to Lead, Manager, Project, or P&L leads
- Report to the Project Controls Director
Requirements
- University degree (B. Eng, BCom, etc.)
- 5 years of relevant planning and project controls experience
- Experience in an engineering and construction projects environment preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
- Thorough knowledge of Primavera P6
- Ability to learn new software according to company standards
- Expert knowledge of project management techniques, including critical path method, progress measurement, and earned value technique
- Experience in project planning, analyzing, and reporting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines
- Strong knowledge of general project controls policies and procedures
- Solid communication and presentation skills
- Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach
- Ability to work well with clients and alliance partners
- Ability to work with staff and build and maintain good working relationships with the Project Controls team
