About the role
- Principal Experience Designer focusing on user-centered design for Autodesk's Preconstruction team. Leading design strategy and collaboration for complex workflows and tools.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product managers, engineering, and research to define great experiences
- Independently frame ambiguous problems, define opportunity spaces, and drive initiatives
- Visualize and prototype solutions at various levels of fidelity
- Present design work clearly to stakeholders and leadership
- Collaborate closely with remote teams to deliver customer value
- Plan, conduct and synthesize user research for complex initiatives
- Participate in and lead design-thinking exercises
- Work within an evolving design system
- Contribute to team culture through critique, mentorship, and collaboration
Requirements
- 8+ years of UX or product design experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating recent user-centered design work
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end design processes
- Demonstrable experience utilizing a variety of human-centered design methods
- Strong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools
- Experience planning, conducting, and applying both qualitative and quantitative user research
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
