Responsibilities
Lead, coach and support a high-performing team of data scientists, actuaries and insurance professionals
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and foster a culture that values data and its strategic use
Support an ambitious model development and pricing plan for commercial insurance
Design and deploy modern tools and innovative pricing solutions
Requirements
More than 7 years of experience in data science, actuarial work or a similar analytical role
Cross-functional skills that enable effective collaboration with diverse teams: data science, actuarial, engineering and insurance functions
Advanced expertise in pricing modeling and related areas (e.g., machine learning, programming, price elasticity, retention, conversion modeling)
Recognized as an expert in one or more domains: pricing, underwriting, claims, predictive modeling, data science or other insurance functions
Excellent coaching skills, demonstrated by the successful development of colleagues or teams
Ability not only to design a high-performing solution or algorithm, but also to secure buy-in, enthusiasm and engagement around it
Recognized expertise in related fields such as statistics, insurance product knowledge or IT/computer science
Proficiency in English in addition to French is required to communicate, verbally and in writing, with our clients, partners and other Aviva teams across Canada.
