About the role

  • Senior Hydrogeologist/Engineer at BluMetric managing mining client portfolios and leading complex hydrogeological projects. Supporting business development in Ontario and Quebec with technical leadership and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of mining clients to contribute to the overall growth of mining work in Ontario and Quebec.
  • Provide senior technical leadership on hydrogeological, environmental site assessment (ESA), remediation, and terrain analysis projects for mining, industrial, municipal, and government clients.
  • Plan, oversee, and implement field programs including drilling, monitoring well installation, groundwater and surface water sampling, pumping and permeability testing.
  • Participate in and lead Phase I and II ESAs and remediation programs.
  • Oversee interpretation of hydrogeological data, conceptual site models, and technical peer reviews.
  • Prepare, review, and approve high-quality technical reports (English required; French an asset).
  • Ensure technical quality assurance through coaching, mentoring, and peer review.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with occupational health and safety policies and environmental regulations in Ontario and Quebec.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff; support professional growth and technical competency.
  • Prepare proposals, participate in local business development activities and communicate with clients, government entities and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences, Geological, Civil, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience, including: Extensive experience in hydrogeology, ESA, remediation, and environmental consulting.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Strong functional knowledge of the mining market, with exposure to environmental, engineering, and/or water treatment services.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies tied to market business plans.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring, coaching, and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to senior stakeholders and clients.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in English.
  • French (spoken and written) is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to travel regionally and occasionally across Canada.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in the office and in the field.
