About the role

  • Technical Trainer developing technical training and LMS systems for CMHA Peel Dufferin. Supporting employees delivering community mental-health and addiction services.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program managers and key stakeholders to identify training needs for new product introductions, updates, and employee knowledge gaps
  • Design and develop training materials including presentations, manuals, job aids, e-learning modules, and assessments
  • Update training resources to reflect current product features, functionalities, and industry best practices
  • Facilitate in-person or virtual training sessions
  • Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics
  • Prepare reports on training outcomes, participation rates, and ROI
  • Align technical training programs with agency goals in collaboration with People & Culture and Education teams
  • Partner with managers to address program and team training needs
  • Work with project teams to understand new product details and functionalities
  • Contribute to planning and potential implementation of a new LMS and other technical systems, including training, administration, reporting, maintenance, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Instructional Design or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in a training, instructional design or technical training role
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training programs, particularly for technical or product-related topics
  • Experience conducting training needs assessments and creating learning materials tailored to various learning styles
  • Experience with e-learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), or virtual training tools
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Knowledge of the company’s products, services, and industry or ability to quickly learn and adapt to technical content
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality
  • Willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence
  • Openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and intersectional framework
  • Willingness to learn and apply practical understanding of diversity-related elements
  • Ability to travel within and around Peel Region and Dufferin County
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report
  • Technical background or certifications in relevant areas is a plus
  • Experience with new product rollouts, product support or technology implementations in a corporate environment is preferred
  • Fluency in a second language, including ASL, is considered an asset
