Responsibilities
Manage operations for critical business applications and services
Provide leadership to System Analysts responsible for maintaining and continuously improving business systems and processes
Mentor, coach, and manage team performance
Provide coaching and professional development opportunities
Lead IT professionals in delivering high-quality business solutions
Champion change management and process optimization initiatives
Implement best practices aligned with organizational goals
Empower team members to identify and implement productivity, quality, and compliance improvements
Promote and support team member wellness
Drive pilot initiatives and proof of concepts, scaling successful outcomes into production
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate and integrate changes
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Monitor and measure improvement initiatives and adjust as needed
Manage team and individual performance using metrics, check-ins, and career planning tools
Prepare resource plans, set priorities, and allocate team members across operational and project work
Recruit, coach, and develop team members
Participate in or lead cross-functional initiatives and committees
Monitor industry standards and health informatics developments relevant to Alberta Blue Cross
Requirements
University degree/diploma or completion of a technical institute diploma program
Minimum of five years of leadership in an IT-related organization or team providing technical and analytical services to clients
Ability to function effectively in day-to-day resource management and strategic leadership roles
Strength in planning, organizing, and setting priorities
Solid understanding of all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle
Working knowledge of Agile framework is a plus
Experience embedding AI tools in workflows to enhance productivity is a plus
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to customer support
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Satisfactory criminal record check required as a condition of employment following a conditional offer
