About the role

  • QA director unifying testing for Catalis’s government SaaS and payments products. Building India-based shared services, AI-driven automation, accessibility compliance, and enterprise QA governance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a centralized, shared services QA organization serving all five product verticals
  • Define the target operating model, team structure, roles, service delivery framework, governance model, SLAs, demand management, capacity planning, and resource allocation
  • Establish unified quality vision, standards, policies, methodologies, best practices, test governance, audits, and continuous improvement cycles
  • Own the QA roadmap and champion shift-left quality across the software development lifecycle
  • Directly manage and develop offshore QA Managers in India and their QA Analyst teams
  • Build high-performing teams through hiring, onboarding, mentorship, career development, and skill-building programs
  • Establish communication and collaboration practices across India-based QA teams and US/Canada-based stakeholders
  • Drive accountability through KPIs, 1:1s, reporting cadences, and change management
  • Develop and execute AI-augmented quality engineering initiatives, including intelligent test generation, self-healing scripts, predictive defect analysis, automated test case creation, and smart test prioritization
  • Evaluate and govern AI-assisted testing tools and build an automation-first culture
  • Architect standardized test automation frameworks using Playwright or comparable tools
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish coverage and ROI metrics
  • Lead enterprise adoption of the Aqua test case management platform and enforce consistent standards
  • Oversee test strategies, plans, cases, and execution across functional, regression, integration, performance, and UAT testing
  • Define and own performance testing strategy using tools such as k6, Locust, JMeter, or equivalent
  • Establish performance baselines, SLA thresholds, entry and exit criteria, and release readiness standards
  • Align QA activities with Scrum and DevOps methodologies, using Jira for defect tracking and sprint integration
  • Represent QA in client-facing discussions and communicate quality risks, timelines, mitigation strategies, and release confidence
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Account Management, executive leadership, and clients
  • Own enterprise accessibility testing strategy and WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance
  • Define accessibility testing standards and tooling including Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, and screen reader testing
  • Oversee accessibility audits, remediation tracking, compliance reporting, and VPAT creation and maintenance
  • Define enterprise QA metrics, report program health and risks to senior leadership, and drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership or director-level role
  • Proven experience building and leading a centralized shared services QA organization, ideally in India, including operating model design, team structure, SLA definition, demand management, and cross-vertical service delivery
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale offshore QA teams in India
  • Deep understanding of the India talent market, engagement models, communication strategies, cultural nuances, and performance management across time zones
  • Track record of consolidating fragmented or siloed QA functions into a unified organization with standardized processes and tools
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI and emerging technologies to transform QA practices
  • Experience with AI-assisted testing tools, intelligent test generation, and predictive quality analytics
  • Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress
  • Experience implementing an enterprise test case management platform
  • Demonstrated experience leading WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility testing programs
  • Proven experience defining and implementing performance and load testing strategies, including tooling selection and CI/CD integration
  • Deep expertise in shift-left testing practices and embedding quality into early SDLC phases
  • Strong proficiency with Jira for defect tracking and QA workflow management
  • Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with clients, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional teams across geographies
  • Strong understanding of Scrum methodologies and DevOps/CI/CD practices
  • Exceptional change management and organizational development skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to India periodically, estimated 15–20%
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS, government technology, or multi-vertical software product environments preferred
  • Familiarity with government technology domains preferred
  • Experience with GCC or shared services center setup and operations preferred
  • ISTQB certification (Advanced or Expert level) or equivalent preferred
