About the role
- Business Training Consultant designing training for CIBC’s client-facing banking technology. Analyzing learning needs, developing digital content, and supporting branch users.
Responsibilities
- Consult on, analyze, develop, implement, and evaluate training needs
- Build front-line branch capability for engaging digitally with clients
- Research, recommend, design, and develop integrated training solutions for client-facing technology initiatives
- Act as a subject matter expert after client-facing technology releases
- Identify and close training gaps and assist branch users with technical challenges
- Work with Managing Directors, Regional Directors, Branch Administrators, Investment Advisors, and business partners
- Liaise between head office and the branch network
- Collaborate with Wood Gundy Technology, Product, Practice Management, Marketing, and Training & Development teams
- Conduct learning needs analyses and needs assessments
- Define measurable performance and training objectives
- Identify training tools and methodologies, including e-learning, multimedia, workshops, knowledge objects, paper-based, and blended solutions
- Repurpose existing learning and development content and design new content
- Design and develop comprehensive training solutions
- Create detailed storyboards with content highlights, key concepts, and graphic/media ideas
- Facilitate training sessions at national, regional, or branch level
- Participate in post-implementation reviews and apply lessons learned
- Build relationships with business partners, project stakeholders, and subject matter experts
- Provide project updates and coordinate production, translation, and handoffs
- Ensure high-quality training deliverables are completed within agreed parameters
Requirements
- Degree in post-secondary education in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Applied Arts or English, Electronic Communications, or Multi-Disciplinary Curriculum; Technical/Business Writing diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience with adult learning principles
- Extensive knowledge and application of instructional/information design principles
- Experience developing e-learning, instructor-led, and self-guided training materials
- Experience using e-learning authoring tools such as Lectora, Captivate, and Articulate Storyline
- Experience using image editing software such as Photoshop and Illustrator
- Experience using multimedia tools such as Premiere Pro and Captivate
- Experience using Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Ability to troubleshoot tool use and recommend the best approach
- Legally eligible to work at the specified location(s)
- Valid work or study permit where applicable
