About the role
- Co-op Student providing engineering support in transit services for the Transit Fleet and Facilities Maintenance team. Ensuring safe and cost-effective maintenance of transit vehicles in full compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide design and engineering assistance/support to transit fleet engineers and technicians
- Conduct research, sort and categorize findings
- Analyze information and draw conclusions
- Write reports and present information in a clear and direct manner
- Use common office computer applications including spreadsheets and Maintenance information management systems
- Use drafting software such as MicroStation or SolidWorks
Requirements
- Enrolment in a recognized co-operative engineering program
- 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student preferred
- No experience required
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and sub-systems
- Analytical and research techniques
- Computer software applications such as MS Office Suite and drafting software
- Maintenance information management systems
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
