About the role
- Senior Backend Engineer building distributed data-ingestion integrations for ClickHouse Cloud. Improving scalable, fault-tolerant pipelines across streaming platforms and cloud storage.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve integrations with streaming platforms and object storage, including Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Storage
- Continuously improve systems based on operational metrics, customer feedback, and evolving business requirements
- Drive technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions affecting platform scalability and resilience
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and respond to production incidents
- Collaborate with engineering and product partners
- Drive projects from design through production
- Help make data ingestion pipelines performant, reliable, and easy to operate
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience building and operating distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of Go and its ecosystem
- Experience designing systems for scalability and fault tolerance
- Understanding of concurrency, consistency, and failure recovery
- Understanding of cloud-native architecture
- Practical experience with at least one major cloud provider
- Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues in distributed systems
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate across engineering and product teams
- Experience with data ingestion pipelines, streaming platforms, or object storage is a plus
