Responsibilities
Collaborating with Product, Design, and other business stakeholders to understand the challenges our business faces, identify the most impactful opportunities, and craft a roadmap for the team
Working with your team on designing technical solutions
Actively contributing to the project by writing and shipping production-level code
Giving clear feedback on code reviews, architectural documents, and more to support team members with making sound technical decisions for their projects
Regular 1:1 meetings with your direct reports to make sure they are supported in their career growth and development goals
Actively participating in hiring to grow the engineering teams at Clio
Requirements
Demonstrated success in people leadership in software engineering, particularly with large scale SaaS products
A history in hands-on software development and data engineering
A diverse knowledge base that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems
Strong opinions that are loosely held, and you foster that same attitude in others
A habit of providing consistent, honest, and actionable feedback to your team and encouraging your team to reciprocate
Experience creating roadmaps that guide your team, but you aren't bound to them - you easily adapt to a constantly changing world
An interest in improving your craft by using AI
Serious bonus points if you have: A philosophy on what makes for great software engineering teams
Experience with Databricks and/or AWS
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform
