About the role
- Deckhand/Factory Worker supporting Mersey's boat operations, fish handling, and seafood packaging. Maintaining gear, operating packaging machinery, and recording production data.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks related to sailing Mersey's boats
- Clean, sort, and pack fish in ice and stow catch in the hold
- Repair nets, splice ropes, and maintain fishing gear and deck equipment
- Set up and operate machines to bag, box, or otherwise package fish products
- Check products and packaging for defects and conformance to company standards
- Perform corrective machine adjustments as required
- Record production information, including quantity, weight, date, and product type
Requirements
- Must hold, or be willing to obtain, a Marine Emergency Duties (MED) certificate
- Valid passport
- Able to enter into the United States and other countries
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Preference given to applicants with harvest vessel experience
