About the role
- Rope Access Technician performing blade repairs and inspections for wind energy projects. Role requires travel across Canada with a focus on safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Perform Category 1–5 blade repairs independently
- Conduct internal and external blade inspections and defect analysis
- Repair fiberglass and composite components (blades, nacelles, hub/nose cones)
- Complete time tracking via Daily Work Report (DWR) and submit detailed repair documentation to Operations Manager & Engineering
- Train and mentor junior technicians (Level 1 & 2)
- Follow all safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Required Certifications: IRATA 3 or SPRAT Rope Access Certification
- Full GWO Certification (BST, ART, BTT)
- Additional Certifications (preferred or required depending on project): Arc Flash / NFPA 70E, Confined Space & Rescue, WHMIS, Respirator Fit Testing, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Experience in blade repair, composites, or similar mechanical work
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s licence with a satisfactory record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to travel extensively across Canada
- Physically capable of performing job duties
