About the role

  • PR & Communications Manager earning meaningful B2B media coverage for Directive, a leading marketing agency. Developing integrated campaigns, executive thought leadership, and media relationships for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, refine, and present strategic communications plans aligned with business objectives
  • Execute integrated PR strategies for B2B clients across earned and owned channels
  • Conduct media outreach and prepare press releases, bylines, analyst briefings, and award submissions
  • Build and maintain media relationships across trade, business, and tech press
  • Craft narratives and pitches that earn meaningful coverage
  • Support executive positioning through media training, thought leadership content, podcast placements, speaking opportunities, and bylined articles
  • Assist with influencer, analyst, and practitioner briefing programs
  • Contribute to organic social strategy and content
  • Use media and social monitoring tools to track trends, identify issues, and uncover opportunities
  • Track, measure, and report program performance against KPIs, including share of voice and pipeline influence
  • Collaborate with other Directive service lines to connect communications programs to broader client strategy
  • Contribute to new business proposals and client presentations as a subject matter expert
  • Work closely with the Head of PR & Communications
  • Visit clients on an as-needed basis

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in PR and communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a flair for creativity
  • Agency experience required
  • B2B or B2B tech experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of earning meaningful media coverage
  • Strong media relationships and ability to build new ones quickly
  • Hands-on experience with executive thought leadership programs, including bylines, podcasts, speaking, and contributed content
  • Ability to translate complex B2B narratives into compelling pitches and stories
  • Awareness of industry news and trends across media and social media
  • Comfort using AI tools to sharpen research, targeting, and workflows
  • Willingness to travel to visit clients as needed
  • Commitment to strengthen PR expertise through independent learning
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations or communications preferred
  • Ability to work from a home office and operate a laptop, software platforms, and office productivity tools
  • Reliable internet access and professional background
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and observe and interpret written and verbal communication
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada now and in the future without sponsorship
  • Must currently reside in Canada
