About the role

  • Vice President leading healthcare PR, client retention, and expansion at Interdependence, an integrated marketing and communications firm. Building healthcare offerings, developing teams, and winning new clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the health and lifestyle industries
  • Cultivate and maintain healthcare client relationships as the primary point of contact
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality PR services
  • Develop comprehensive PR strategies tailored to client objectives and target audiences
  • Oversee PR campaigns including media relations, thought leadership, crisis communications, and executive visibility programs
  • Lead, mentor, and empower health and lifestyle PR professionals
  • Build relationships with key health and lifestyle contacts and secure placements in top-tier outlets and healthcare publications
  • Position clients as thought leaders through content development, speaking opportunities, and industry events
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics and recommend optimization
  • Own weekly business reviews, account health scoring, and proactive risk identification across the client book
  • Improve practice-level retention through service delivery, fast time-to-value, and save-the-account interventions
  • Develop and execute 5+ recurring expansion plays targeting 1.5–2% monthly MRR expansion
  • Lead and develop the existing healthcare team through coaching, recruiting, and delivery-quality accountability
  • Build a productized healthcare service offering leveraging the Interviewed platform, including competitive intelligence, regulatory media monitoring, KOL targeting, and payer narrative tracking
  • Win new healthcare clients in partnership with the new business team across biotech, pharma, medical devices, hospitals and health systems, digital health, and consumer wellness
  • Represent the practice externally at industry events, healthcare publications, and in healthcare communications thought leadership
  • Submit a resume, brief cover letter, and one-page write-up of a significant healthcare client retention or expansion outcome

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on healthcare and lifestyle industries
  • 15+ years in healthcare communications or healthcare PR, with senior leadership experience leading teams and owning practice-level outcomes
  • Proven track record managing PR campaigns for healthcare clients, with measurable media placement and client satisfaction results
  • Demonstrated specialty depth in at least three of: FDA and regulatory communications, biotech and pharma, medical devices, hospital and health systems, payer relations, clinical trial communications, digital health, healthcare policy
  • Documented track record of measurable client retention and expansion described in numbers
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare industry
  • Extensive network of healthcare and lifestyle media contacts and industry connections
  • Strong healthcare media network across business, trade, clinical, and consumer publications
  • Comfort carrying gross revenue retention, net revenue retention, and expansion as primary KPIs
  • Strategic operating ability across client strategy, team development, and operational rigor
  • Comfort with AI-driven workflows and a data-disciplined approach to earned media
  • Results-oriented approach and ability to exceed client expectations
