About the role

  • Commercial logistics manager developing and selling DP World Freight Forwarding services across Canada. Directing trading strategy and assessing commercial opportunities for port, terminal and supply-chain businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop plans to implement DP World Canada's Freight Forwarding strategy
  • Develop logistics parks, NVOCC/third-party logistics, short sea shipping and the complete Freight Forwarding product offering
  • Engage with cargo owners and manage customer relationships in coordination with the Commercial team
  • Focus on face-to-face customer interactions
  • Discover new business operations and analyze their contribution to the business
  • Coordinate resources required to implement new services
  • Assess financial and economic issues to identify trade opportunities and risks
  • Collaborate with senior management by providing project-related business impact updates and solutions
  • Assist with pricing structures and financial models for Freight Forwarding services
  • Assess the future profitability of business opportunities
  • Develop and sell DP World Freight Forwarding services across Canada
  • Direct execution of trading strategy for Canada's business units

Requirements

  • Degree in business, commerce or a related field with knowledge of economics and quantitative analysis
  • Minimum 5 years of general management experience from another 3PL; NVOCC license is an asset
  • Successful management of key stakeholder relationships, including shareholders and external government agencies
  • High-level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Proven business acumen and experience managing and understanding complex commercial contracts
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to build solid relationships
  • Knowledge of statistics, macro-economic trends, business metrics and financial basics
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including influencing, negotiating and formal presentations
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes
  • Ability to develop short- and long-term project plans and manage project financial costs
  • Fluent in English
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries
