About the role
- Acting as the engineering lead on facility projects for design phase in the energy sector. Overseeing design and execution for compliance with standards and project scope.
Responsibilities
- Works independently, ensuring that all pipelines and facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes, and corporate standards and specifications.
- Leads engineering design, defining the scope, schedule and budget for design and material procurement.
- Manages the execution of the design deliverables by a third-party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule.
- Reviews and approves design deliverables, for example drawings, technical reports, and material requisition sheets.
- Reviews vendor materials quotations, prepares technical evaluations, and recommends to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery.
Requirements
- Engineering degree.
- Currently registered as a professional engineer P Eng with APEGA.
- A minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, including roles in engineering and project management.
- Ability to resolve issues based on depth and breadth of technical and business knowledge.
- Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with technical and non-technical partners.
- Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.
- Valid passport to travel and work between US and Canada.
