About the role

  • Tax litigation Senior Associate representing clients in Canadian tax disputes at EY. Managing complex litigation mandates, appeals, audits, and relationships with tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in tax controversy and dispute resolution matters involving federal and provincial tax authorities
  • Advise clients throughout the audit, objection, appeal, and litigation process
  • Prepare and review notices of objection, written representations, settlement proposals, and other litigation-related documents
  • Support and lead management of tax litigation files before the Tax Court of Canada, Federal Court, and other administrative tribunals
  • Lead complex tax litigation mandates and oversee case strategy from audit through resolution
  • Manage multiple client engagements, budgets, and project teams while ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, government authorities, and external advisors
  • Support practice growth through business development and market visibility

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in income tax, sales tax, and other tax areas, with a strong focus on tax litigation
  • Proven track record managing complex tax litigation cases
  • Deep understanding of Canada’s income tax, sales tax, and other Canadian tax systems
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of the province of residence
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong team-player orientation and ability to support colleagues
  • Confidence to speak up and influence a team
