About the role
- Customs Associate clearing Canadian shipments for Flexport’s global trade technology platform. Preparing customs entries and documentation while ensuring CBSA and PGA compliance for clients.
Responsibilities
- Create and submit customs entries for high profile clients
- Digitally prepare and submit all documentation required for goods to clear with CBSA
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CBSA and Participating Government Agencies (PGA) regulations and procedures
- Review and organize incoming documents to ensure compliance with CBSA and PGA reporting requirements
- Provide customer service support to clients throughout their interactions with Flexport
- Follow global customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements to ensure compliance with import and export requirements
- Participate in training programs to enhance customs compliance knowledge and stay current on regulatory and industry changes
- Work multiple available shifts
Requirements
- CCS Designation required/listed as a qualification
- Good understanding of CARM
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Understanding of international trade and customs regulations; previous experience is a must
- Familiarity with CBSA product classification and rulings
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills, including G Suite applications
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing customs practices and regulations
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy and compliance
