Responsibilities
Lead the annual budgeting process, including the timeline, templates, banner submissions, consolidation, and challenging assumptions
Lead the monthly cycle, variance analysis, financial commentary, and rolling forecasts
Review the monthly general ledger detail with the Accounting team to identify coding errors and accrual gaps
Turn franchisee sales data into recommendations and measure the results achieved
Prepare periodic reporting packages for the Board of Directors, lenders, and the shareholder, including covenant calculations
Lead and coach two Senior Financial Analysts
Use Finance function AI tools and contribute to their development
Support acquisition evaluations, normalized earnings analyses, and validation of seller figures
Track the execution of synergies and cost-reduction initiatives
Integrate newly acquired banners into the planning, accountability, and key performance indicator framework
Provide analysis for margin and cost programs across the banner portfolio
Report to the Vice President, Finance, and collaborate with senior leadership and the Director, Strategic Finance
Requirements
At least six years of progressive experience in Finance
Direct experience owning a budgeting cycle and a monthly close and variance analysis cycle within an operating company
Experience preparing reports for senior leadership, a Board of Directors, lenders, or a private equity shareholder
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
Ability to build a model from a blank workbook and audit someone else’s model
Comfortable working at the general ledger level in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
Experience with accruals and accounting classifications
Some experience with transactions or value creation
Experience coaching or supervising analysts
Genuine interest in AI-powered ways of working; no programming skills required
Experience in a multi-site, franchise, food service, retail, or consumer packaged goods environment is a significant asset
Knowledge of NetSuite is an asset
Formal people management experience is an asset
Experience with covenant reporting or leveraged finance is an asset
CPA designation or MBA is an asset
