About the role
- Software Dev QA Specialist testing Fortinet’s cybersecurity product suite through manual and automated QA. Supporting R&D with defect tracking, scripting, and network-system testing in Burnaby.
Responsibilities
- Execute feature and bug-fix testing using manual and automated testing techniques and analyze code
- Identify, document, and track software defects found during testing
- Automate front-end testing and use other automation tools
- Work closely with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed
- Set up, maintain, and operate experimental and hot-test network systems
- Assist Fortinet's R&D Team with quality assurance for the Fortinet product suite
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of software quality assurance or network engineering experience in IT or related industry, preferably in routing/switching/network security fields
- Experience in Unix/Linux environment is a must
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, switching, and routing
- Familiarity with system maintenance and troubleshooting, including software and different hardware components
- Ability to write clear and reproducible problem reports and test results
- Knowledge of firewalls, Linux, and packet capture utilities such as Wireshark
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Highly motivated, responsible, and a quick learner
- Familiarity with system installations, configurations, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language: Shell, Ruby, Perl, Python, etc.
- Background in cloud computing is a plus
