About the role

Responsibilities

  • Guide the Technical Services Team in delivering strong customer service
  • Develop unit operating guidelines and control strategies to optimize throughput and yields
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot operational and control issues
  • Ensure compliance with current standards, regulations, laws and directives for safe operations
  • Provide technical support for operational procedure reviews, management of change execution, risk reviews, and bottleneck identification
  • Ensure unit health and optimization through development and monitoring of KPIs
  • Maintain effective stewardship and management of controls and process information
  • Coordinate Tech Services preparations for Turnarounds
  • Plan, delegate, communicate, and manage work assignments for the team

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in the chemical engineering discipline
  • Experience in an operating plant is an asset
  • Troubleshooting experience on refinery unit operations is preferred
  • Experience working in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical is preferred
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario or equivalent/transferrable
