About the role
- Senior Backend Software Development Engineer designing and building robust services to scale Hive's marketing platform. Collaborating with teams to enhance application performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design and build robust backend services that enable Hive's marketing platform to scale
- Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through deployment and production support
- Build and optimize high-throughput data pipelines processing billions of customer data points
- Collaborate with product teams to design scalable APIs and integrate with external platforms like Ticketmaster and Shopify
- Enhance application performance and reliability across the stack
- Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability for the services you build
Requirements
- 7+ years building backend services and APIs at scale
- Strong experience with AWS (or similar cloud platforms)
- Demonstrated expertise in Python/Django, database design, API design, distributed systems
- Experience owning production services, including participating in on-call rotations and incident response
- Experience with high-volume data processing and real-time systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and explain complex technical concepts clearly
