About the role

  • Senior Clinical Data Science Programmer developing CDMS, validation, and data-transfer programs for ICON’s clinical research trials. Mentoring programmers and collaborating across clinical data teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and maintain programming solutions for CDMS, data validation outputs, data review/risk management outputs, custom reports, and clinical-trial programs
  • Collaborate with data managers, project managers, clinical data scientists, and biostatisticians to integrate programming solutions into the overall data management process
  • Act as a primary point of contact during study setup and maintenance for system programming questions
  • Support knowledge sharing within the Programmers group through presentations and training materials
  • Perform CDMS data extracts and create data transfer programs
  • Mentor and guide junior programmers assigned to projects
  • Assist with improvements to technical systems and processes in an SME role
  • Stay updated on programming languages and data management tools
  • Develop and maintain programs for handling external vendor data

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in programming for CDMS (EDC systems such as Rave/Veeva), data validation outputs, data review/risk management outputs, custom reports, and programs in clinical trials
  • Proficiency in languages such as SAS, R, or Python
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and influence outcomes
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Legal right to work in Canada
