Seeking an experienced Government RDIMS Consultant / Data Management Specialist for a federal client in Ottawa. Must have Secret Clearance.
About the role
- Platform Engineer developing backend systems for player data and gaming integration. Working with international clients on scalable cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs (API-first architecture)
- Develop systems for player accounts, progression, rewards, and leaderboards
- Leverage AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development, debugging, and system iteration
- Design scalable systems supporting multiple game modules
- Work within cloud-based architecture (compute, storage, databases)
- Enable data-driven systems (config via JSON, not hardcoded logic)
- Support lightweight CMS or data-driven configuration workflows
- Collaborate with game engineers on integrations
Requirements
- +5 years of experience building backend systems for consumer-facing products
- Experience working in AI-forward, agentic development workflows (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) and leveraging them to accelerate development
- Strong API design and service architecture experience
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar)
- Familiarity with data-driven systems (config via JSON or similar)
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher (able to communicate effectively in written and spoken form in professional settings)
