About the role

Senior Data Analyst building trusted financial data models, pipelines, and reporting for Instacart’s grocery delivery business. Supporting Revenue Accounting, compliance, and cloud analytics.

Responsibilities

Translate business requirements into scalable data models and identify actionable insights
Own ambiguous data initiatives end-to-end with clear deliverables
Design and automate dashboards, models, and reporting systems
Build and maintain data products supporting Revenue Accounting, including revenue recognition logic in financial data models
Apply compliance-first design principles to support SOX, audit readiness, and data governance
Implement validation, monitoring, and reconciliation frameworks for financial datasets
Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and system enhancement across Finance and Accounting
Use AI technologies and Python ML libraries to improve financial data modeling, automation, workflows, and analytics

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
5+ years of experience in data analytics or analytics engineering roles
Strong SQL and cloud data fundamentals
Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and BI tools (Mode, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
Experience building and supporting complex data pipelines with emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and traceability
Familiarity with financial data structures, accounting processes, and enterprise systems such as Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, and Adaptive
Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical teams
Public company experience with exposure to SOX compliance
Background in high-growth technology environments
Experience implementing large-scale financial or operational systems
Demonstrated ability to support Finance and Accounting teams with scalable data solutions
Cloud cost management experience, ideally in an AWS environment
Familiarity with AI/ML applications in data analytics
Project management experience is a plus
