About the role
- Data operations analyst supporting Canaccord Genuity’s enterprise data platforms, reporting, and integrations. Monitoring data services and developing SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, and Microsoft data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor scheduled data loads, ETL processes, and reporting activities
- Investigate and resolve data, reporting, and application support issues
- Perform data validation and reconciliation activities
- Assist with incident response and problem resolution
- Escalate issues appropriately and document resolutions
- Maintain support and operational procedures
- Monitor overnight production ETL processes on weeknights by responding to database-related alerts and escalations
- Provide database-related support on weekends as required
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and scripts
- Support data integration and transformation processes
- Assist with database troubleshooting and performance analysis
- Participate in testing and validation activities for data initiatives
- Help automate recurring operational and reporting tasks
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI and other reporting platforms
- Support business users with reporting requests and data inquiries
- Monitor data quality and report accuracy
- Assist in documenting business definitions and reporting standards
- Identify opportunities for reporting and process improvements
- Assist with implementation of enterprise data solutions
- Support Snowflake and Microsoft-based data platforms
- Contribute to data modeling, integration, and migration initiatives
- Participate in data governance and quality activities
- Work closely with senior Data Engineers and Data Architects on project delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years experience working with data, reporting, SQL, business intelligence, or application support
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Interest in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise data platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Candidates selected for interviews must show proof of citizenship, permanent residence, or eligibility to work in Canada with no restrictions
- Preferred: Experience with SQL Server or Snowflake
- Preferred: Experience with Power BI, SSRS, or similar reporting tools
- Preferred: Familiarity with ETL or data integration concepts
- Preferred: Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or cloud technologies
- Preferred: Experience supporting business applications or production environments
- Preferred: Knowledge of financial services
- Preferred: Experience with PowerShell, Python, or automation tools
