About the role
- Senior Business Analyst in Intact's Data Engineering team, focusing on data pipeline and analytics improvement. Collaborating across departments to enhance reliability and decision-making through data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various departments to increase the use of data analytic tools, reducing manual processes and enhancing the reliability of decision-making and compliance activities.
- Collect, process, and analyze data using programming languages such as SQL or Python.
- Create clear and informative data visualizations using tools like Power BI.
- Conduct data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Translate complex data findings into a compelling narrative for non-technical stakeholders.
- Present insights and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other analysts and business professionals to support data-driven decision-making.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in data analytics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Analyst or in a similar role
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL or basic Python
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and their applications
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, or equivalent
- Knowledge of database systems and experience with querying and managing databases
- Familiarity in data focus working environment and cloud-based services (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Excellent data storytelling and presentation skills
- A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn and stay updated with industry trends
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
