About the role

  • Senior Project Environmental Engineer managing environmental projects and client relationships at Langan in Calgary. Overseeing technical teams and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of environmental engineering projects including environmental site assessments, remediation system design and implementation, risk assessments, and regulatory approvals
  • Lead technical teams in the development of remedial action plans, feasibility studies, design specifications, and permitting documents for contaminated sites
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and successful project execution
  • Support business development efforts in Alberta and Western Canada, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Mentor junior and mid-level staff, providing technical guidance, oversight, and professional development support
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of technical documents and field work
  • Coordinate with other Langan disciplines, including geotechnical, civil, and environmental scientists, to deliver integrated solutions
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations
  • Prepare and review technical reports, site investigation summaries, remedial action plans, and regulatory submissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Alberta required (or eligibility to obtain)
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental engineering with a focus on investigation, remediation, and project delivery in Canada
  • Proven understanding of Alberta-specific environmental regulations and permitting processes
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, teams, and client relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and client presentations
  • Familiarity with engineering design software and environmental data management tools
  • Ability to travel to local project sites and client offices as needed
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
