About the role

  • Ingénieur.e en Structure du bâtiment contribuant à des projets variés et stimulants pour une clientèle diversifiée chez EXP. Environnement hybride permettant de partager le temps entre télétravail et bureau de Sherbrooke.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce structural drawings and specifications for buildings (steel, concrete, and timber) in compliance with the Building Code, applicable standards, and project guidelines.
  • Perform technical surveys and provide construction follow-up.
  • Collaborate in the preparation, analysis, and review of technical studies and expert reports.
  • Participate in integrating technical data into Building Information Models (BIM) and ensure interdisciplinary consistency.
  • Ensure deliverables, schedules, and the quality of produced drawings and technical documents are respected.
  • Participate in construction cost evaluations and contribute to budget development.
  • Attend project kickoff and coordination meetings.
  • Ensure engineering work is executed in accordance with EXP’s quality standards, applicable codes, and contractual documents.
  • Keep up to date with products, standards, methods, and technologies.
  • Perform any other duties related to the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (building engineering, civil engineering, or any other qualification deemed equivalent).
  • More than 7 years of relevant experience in building structures, ideally in consulting engineering.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Good knowledge of current codes and standards applicable to buildings.
  • Familiarity with design and structural analysis software such as ETABS, ADA, SAFI, SAP2000, or equivalents.
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
