About the role
- Senior Software Engineer scaling backend systems for Lime, a global shared micromobility company. Improving fleet repair, logistics, data management, and warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects with engineers, product managers, and operations to deliver key objectives
- Contribute to the team’s technical direction and engineering quality
- Identify, define, and solve technical problems while maintaining engineering standards
- Scrutinize and decide on technology and architecture choices
- Perform troubleshooting and full-cycle incident response, including mitigation, correction, and prevention
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence and feedback
- Conduct software engineering interviews
- Help shape the company’s overall engineering culture
- Optimize business processes and develop systems for vehicle repair quality, asset logistics, data management, and warehouse efficiency
- Build scalable backend solutions supporting Lime’s global fleet operations
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Track record of building and maintaining high-quality software that delivers business impact
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience conducting code reviews and implementing best practices for scalable and maintainable code
- Experience working on scalable and robust system architectures
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers
- Preferred: Ruby in Rails
- Ability to reside and work remotely from Canada
- Ability to participate in a shared on-call rotation
