About the role
- Asset Protection Representative safeguarding Loblaw grocery and pharmacy stores in Edmonton. Preventing theft, conducting investigations, detaining offenders, and collaborating with law enforcement.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible and professional in-store presence to prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations
- Safely and lawfully detain offenders according to company and legal procedures
- Conduct internal and external investigations
- Gather and analyze evidence
- Collaborate with law enforcement when required
- Identify loss trends and implement prevention strategies with store leadership
- Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations
- Adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule
Requirements
- Valid Provincial Security Guard License
- Understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation
- Experience with CCTV and surveillance tools
- Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiency
- Exceptional communication skills
- High level of trustworthiness and accountability
- Candidates must be 18 years or older to complete a criminal background check
- Previous experience in grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail environments is an asset
