About the role
- Principal Architect leading scalable data platform architecture, solution sales, and client workshops for Long View, a North American IT provider. Mentoring data teams and driving outcomes across Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Snowflake.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Practice Director of Data Modernization to craft and curate a portfolio of differentiated practice solutions
- Develop strategies and execute plans to achieve targets in the one-page plan
- Lead the design and architecture of Data Platform Frameworks
- Ensure frameworks are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to project teams and clients
- Lead the strategic sales process from inception to closure, including authoring proposals, RFPs, RFIs, and contracts
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Digital Architects to identify growth opportunities
- Cultivate a pipeline of potential deals and deliver territory revenue targets
- Participate in and contribute insights to the broader Long View team
- Host presentations and educational sessions
- Lead and mentor data solution architects, engineers, and consultants
- Monitor team utilization, capacity, and workload distribution
- Conduct ad hoc code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Collaborate with other practices to develop and bring complementary products and capabilities to market
- Solve client business challenges and drive outcomes across end-to-end data platforms, including Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Snowflake
- Perform strategic business solutions sales, solutioning, demos, art-of-the-possible workshops, and envisioning sessions
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience working as a subject matter expert or Solutions Architect for data platforms, including data engineering and data architecture
- 5+ years of experience selling complex solutions that create business outcomes
- 5+ years of experience delivering within the Agile/Scrum framework
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and peers in written, oral, and presentation formats
- Proficiency in workshop facilitation, including envisioning workshops and art-of-the-possible sessions
- Ability to rapidly grasp new technology concepts and assess their relevance for client solutions
- Self-motivation and drive to improve skills and remain relevant in the area of expertise
- Passion for customer satisfaction and client experiences
- Knowledge of current news, problems, changes, and updates relevant to the data user community or area of specialization
