About the role
- Disability benefit analyst calculating STD/LTD offsets and overpayment recoveries for Manulife. Explaining benefit adjustments and negotiating repayment plans with plan members remotely in Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and code offsets and adjusted Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits in Navigator
- Inform plan members of overpayment amounts with clear verbal and written explanations
- Follow up with plan members regarding reimbursement of overpayments
- Negotiate acceptable repayment plans when necessary
- Proceed with claim recoveries in Navigator
- Support a small, dynamic National Life, Disability & Wellness Team
- Deliver value and customer-focused disability benefit services
Requirements
- Experience in disability benefit calculations
- Strong mathematical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to read and interpret group insurance contracts and apply their provisions
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service focus and ability to deliver difficult messages empathetically
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset; required in Québec to support clients from various provinces outside Québec
- Experience with Navigator is an asset
