Responsibilities
Actively participate in the development of PLC programs, safety controllers and operator interfaces according to project specifications
Participate in equipment start-up testing at Matiss (F.A.T.): Install the various software components on the equipment; validate system inputs/outputs; verify correct program operation and ensure its integration with other system components
Participate in installations and commissioning at client sites (S.A.T.): Support system installation at the client site according to Matiss standards; support system start-up at the client site; implement fixes and adjustments to meet the required specifications; validate operating sequences and complete final acceptance
Provide technical support to clients after commissioning: Troubleshoot malfunctions of devices or equipment; recommend required replacement parts, when applicable; assist and train relevant personnel
Update electrical connection diagrams when required; write and/or update technical system manuals; collaborate with team members and other departments; comply with safety rules at all times, whether at Matiss or at client sites
Perform any other related duties as required
Requirements
AEC or DEC in Electrical Engineering Technology or Industrial Electronics Technology with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automated Production Engineering, or Robotics Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience
Advanced French (spoken and written)
Working knowledge of English is required to communicate regularly with clients located outside Quebec
Knowledge of the Logix platform (Allen-Bradley) or TIA Portal (Siemens) and Fanuc/ABB
Ability to integrate PLC and robot software
Hands-on, structured, organized and efficient
Detail-oriented, autonomous, resourceful and solution-driven
Good communication skills and a strong customer focus
Willingness to travel within Canada and the United States as required
Ability to read drawings and strong interest in automation
Knowledge of mechanical systems/pneumatics (an asset)
Knowledge of AutoCAD (an asset)
