About the role

  • Participation au développement de solutions d'automatisation et d'équipements électriques chez Matiss. Tâches incluent démarrage des systèmes, support technique et mises en service chez les clients.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the development of PLC programs, safety controllers and operator interfaces according to project specifications
  • Participate in equipment start-up testing at Matiss (F.A.T.): Install the various software components on the equipment; validate system inputs/outputs; verify correct program operation and ensure its integration with other system components
  • Participate in installations and commissioning at client sites (S.A.T.): Support system installation at the client site according to Matiss standards; support system start-up at the client site; implement fixes and adjustments to meet the required specifications; validate operating sequences and complete final acceptance
  • Provide technical support to clients after commissioning: Troubleshoot malfunctions of devices or equipment; recommend required replacement parts, when applicable; assist and train relevant personnel
  • Update electrical connection diagrams when required; write and/or update technical system manuals; collaborate with team members and other departments; comply with safety rules at all times, whether at Matiss or at client sites
  • Perform any other related duties as required

Requirements

  • AEC or DEC in Electrical Engineering Technology or Industrial Electronics Technology with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automated Production Engineering, or Robotics Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced French (spoken and written)
  • Working knowledge of English is required to communicate regularly with clients located outside Quebec
  • Knowledge of the Logix platform (Allen-Bradley) or TIA Portal (Siemens) and Fanuc/ABB
  • Ability to integrate PLC and robot software
  • Hands-on, structured, organized and efficient
  • Detail-oriented, autonomous, resourceful and solution-driven
  • Good communication skills and a strong customer focus
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and the United States as required
  • Ability to read drawings and strong interest in automation
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems/pneumatics (an asset)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD (an asset)
