- Systems Engineer/Technician deploying mission-critical communication systems across provinces in Canada. Engaging in extensive customer interactions and upgrades, ensuring technical integrity.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer presentations
- System staging
- Complete system documentation
- Live system upgrades
- Ensuring the integrity of the architecture/design
- Carry out field engineering duties during a radio system upgrade cycle
- Responsible for upgrading/deploying various devices which include network gear, Windows-based devices, virtual machines and Motorola proprietary devices
- Customer facing technical resource throughout the upgrade effort
- Traveling to customer locations in BC, AB, or QC to carry out duties
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in Engineering or Wireless Communications
- Experience/knowledge in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless or broadband/LTE
- Experience with Project 25 products (trunked and conventional)
- Good understanding of IP networking, network design methodologies, and troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS)
- Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of:
- Workstation Operating Systems, specifically Windows 10 and 11
- Switches, specifically Aruba and Juniper
- Firewalls, specifically Fortinet and Juniper
- Routers, specifically MNR and Juniper
- Experience with logging recording systems
- Fluency in both English and French
- Desired to be a licensed Professional Engineer or have the proper academic and work experience required to get the accreditation
- Strongly desired to live in the BC, AB, or QC area with close proximity to a major airport
