About the role

  • Leadership Giving Manager advancing MS Canada’s fundraising for people affected by multiple sclerosis. Building major-donor relationships and securing transformational gifts across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful relationships with philanthropists who want to create lasting change for Canadians affected by multiple sclerosis
  • Inspire and steward leadership donors through personalized and meaningful engagement
  • Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects with potential to make transformational gifts
  • Develop creative strategies connecting donors with MS Canada's mission, research, and impact
  • Partner with volunteers, executives, and colleagues across the organization to cultivate philanthropic relationships
  • Help shape a culture of philanthropy
  • Contribute to ambitious fundraising goals that directly improve lives
  • Represent MS Canada and its world-leading MS research and innovation
  • Report to the Director, Leadership Giving

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a major gift fundraiser with demonstrated success identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts in the five- and six-figure range
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build genuine relationships with high-net-worth individuals
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and opportunities simultaneously
  • Collaborative mindset and experience working effectively with senior leaders, volunteers, and cross-functional teams
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong initiative, sound judgment, and attention to detail
  • Experience using CRM/database systems to manage relationships and fundraising activity
  • Willingness to travel within Canada
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for donor meetings and events
  • CFRE designation or progress toward certification is an asset
  • Experience working in a national charitable or health-related organization is an asset
  • Background check required
