About the role
- Freelance fantasy content creator producing timely analysis for NBC Sports and Rotoworld across NBA, MLB, and NFL news. Writing posts, video segments, and breaking-news coverage.
Responsibilities
- Write original and insightful posts on key sports news and events
- Produce timely, concise fantasy analysis on breaking news, injuries, transactions, and game results for the NBA, MLB, NFL, and other sports
- Provide fantasy analysis for live streams and video on demand
- Brainstorm and pitch creative approaches to content and event coverage
- Collaborate with NBC Sports/Rotoworld writers and contributors to ensure near around-the-clock coverage
Requirements
- Minimum one year experience in a sports writing capacity
- Familiarity with and experience in fantasy sports writing
- Comfortable with using fantasy terminology in copy
- Strong editorial judgment and engagement with multiple sports properties
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Eagerness to learn and ability to adjust as storylines and trends evolve and change
- Experience and familiarity with social media platforms, particularly X, Bluesky, and Instagram
- Experience with sports betting and playing fantasy sports is a plus
- Availability on nights and weekends
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask
- Ability to follow major storylines across multiple sports and create clearly written, editorially sound, user-friendly content
- Familiarity with CMS/digital environments
- Comfort with sports research/statistics sources and methods and ability to fact-check efficiently
- Familiarity with AP style
- Strong comfort level with video and audio editorial presentation
- Comfortable working with an editor
- Resume/CV submission required
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years or older
