About the role

  • Warranty Bids and Contracts Specialist at New Flyer responsible for warranty packages and proposals for bus and charger bids. Coordinating warranty terms with suppliers and documentation for customer projects.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing the warranty and service package for all bus, coach and charger bids.
  • This includes the analysis of warranty spend to provide proposed warranty costing/accrual for bids and coordination of all Service-related bid requirements including the interpretation of the required warranty data and documentation from both suppliers and customers.
  • Review the warranty portion of bus, coach and charger tenders indicating approved equals, deviations and clarifications (primary on ZEB and Charger bids).
  • Prepare pricing proposal per bid and establish a self-insured price list for warranty by bus and coach model, key components, and other commercial requirements from customers.
  • Prepare and maintain bid proposal documentation per bid as required (Service Profile, Warranty and Tech Support, Field Support etc).
  • Participate in pre–pricing, strategy meetings and warranty negotiations within NFI Group and with customers as required.
  • Works to continuously improve the relationship and communication between Service and Sales on new-bid activity to improve speed and quality of response.
  • Update the Service Support Tracker.
  • Work directly with Supply Chain to negotiate warranty terms and conditions with suppliers and obtain quotes.
  • Update Master Battery Tracker with warranty information by SR.
  • Create a Warranty Checklist and Summary sheet for each Bid as required.
  • Support Customer Care with warranty term and condition issues/inquiries.
  • Maintain database for all supplier and New Flyer warranty information and special contractual exceptions, including narratives for bids.
  • Participate with Finance in monthly control and monitoring of warranty provision by contract/model.
  • Liaise with Warranty Recovery and Technical Services staff to ensure current issues are addressed on future bus tenders.
  • Assist Warranty Claims and Warranty Parts Administrators as required.

Requirements

  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Lead and/or Supervision qualities & experience
  • Negotiating skills
  • 2-5 years’ experience in customer service
  • Innovative problem-solver who can generate workable solutions and resolve complaints
  • Proficient with Oracle
  • Product knowledge an asset.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Above average interpersonal skills and a professional attitude to highly analytical thinker with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing and improving processes

  • Experience or knowledge of motor vehicle components
