About the role
- Software Engineer building scalable Java and Spring Boot applications for Newfold Digital’s global web technology products. Designing REST APIs, optimizing databases, and supporting cloud operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using Java, JavaScript, and JavaScript-based frameworks
- Build and consume RESTful APIs for web and enterprise applications
- Design, query, and optimize Oracle and MySQL databases
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards
- Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams
- Participate in code reviews and improve code quality and system performance
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design discussions
- Ensure application security, scalability, and performance
- Stay current with emerging technologies and propose improvements
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle for scalable, reliable, high-performance web services and digital products
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Oracle
- Strong experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Boot and/or other Java-based frameworks
- Experience building applications with JavaScript, Angular, and/or similar frameworks
- Experience with Linux and shell scripting
- Solid foundation in object-oriented programming and clean architecture principles
- Expertise designing and consuming secure, scalable RESTful APIs
- Strong command of Oracle and MySQL, including database design, query optimization, performance tuning, and stored procedures
- Experience deploying, monitoring, and operating applications on OCI, AWS, and Azure
- Strong system design skills focused on scalability, high availability, reliability, and maintainability
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Exposure to enterprise design patterns, AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot and Cursor, AI/ML integration, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
