About the role
- Senior Release Engineer designing release pipelines, quality gates, and AI-powered DevOps tooling. Supporting Akamai’s distributed cloud and edge platform that powers secure digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable pipelines
- Develop custom agentic and CLI tools to optimize build workflows
- Act as the final release authority
- Enforce release scheduling, quality gates, and compliance checks in coordination with QA and Engineering
- Identify, triage, and resolve environment-level issues, including build node outages, test lab provisioning failures, and network/dependency blocks
- Integrate AI agents and evaluation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and log analysis
- Participate in an agentic DevOps group designing AI agents for production issue monitoring, escalation triaging, and management
- Bridge Software Engineering and QA while maintaining lab infrastructure health
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Software Release Engineering, DevOps, or Build/Test Automation roles
- Expertise in continuous integration and delivery tools (e.g., Cloudbee, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Proficiency in Python and Bash
- Knowledge of Ruby is ideal
- Experience with Docker and container registry management
- Working knowledge of Linux systems
- Working knowledge of AI tooling and agentic workflows
