About the role

Responsibilities
- Act as a business partner to the leadership, sales, project, and operations teams
- Provide advice on legal and commercial matters related to the company’s activities
- Deliver pragmatic, innovative, and business-oriented recommendations
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial, operational, and legal risks
- Collaborate on innovation, transformation, and process optimization projects
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements
- Support strategic negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners in Canada and the United States
- Improve contract templates, negotiation processes, and CLM tools
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives and growth projects
- Participate in acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, financings, and corporate reorganizations
- Lead or oversee due diligence processes and coordinate internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate matters assigned to external law firms and manage budgets
- Participate in the management of litigation, claims, and commercial disputes
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate obligations
- Contribute to legal policies, procedures, training, and best-practice tools
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law
- A degree in Business Administration is an asset
- Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar or another North American bar
- 5 to 8 years of experience in business or commercial law, acquired in private practice or within a corporate legal department
- Experience in the manufacturing sector is an asset
- Excellent written and spoken French and English required
- Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
- Strong interest in business matters, negotiation, operations, and strategic projects
- Comfortable using technology tools
- Availability for occasional travel in Canada and the United States
- Valid passport and driver’s license
- Equivalent experience will be considered
