About the role
- AWS Data Engineer Lead responsible for designing, building, and leading data platforms on AWS. Collaborating with technical teams to ensure high-quality data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines on AWS
- Architect end-to-end data solutions using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, EMR, and Step Functions
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Lead and mentor junior data engineers; conduct code reviews and enforce best practices
- Collaborate with product, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards are met
- Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of AWS data platforms
- Support CI/CD, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data workflows
- Drive adoption of modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with 4+ years on AWS
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR, Athena)
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or AWS Step Functions
- Strong leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
