About the role

  • Director leading FP&A for Raising The Village, an international anti-poverty nonprofit. Owning budgets, forecasts, performance analysis, and strategic finance partnering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Raising The Village’s forward-looking FP&A function as a strategic partner to the CFO, executive leadership, country teams, and functional leaders
  • Own annual consolidated budgets, rolling forecasts, multi-year plans, and in-year reforecasting across countries, departments, programs, and funding sources
  • Develop integrated financial and operational planning models covering program reach, cost per beneficiary, staffing, capital requirements, funding, and cash needs
  • Lead scenario and sensitivity analysis covering growth options, funding gaps, foreign exchange exposure, cost pressures, and strategic trade-offs
  • Own budget and KPI performance management, including review standards, target monitoring, accountability, and corrective actions
  • Lead quarterly performance reviews at executive and country levels
  • Prepare CFO, executive leadership, Board, and Finance/Audit/Risk Committee materials
  • Act as senior finance partner for business cases, program design, workforce planning, country expansion, investment decisions, and resource allocation
  • Provide financial modelling and analysis for donor proposals, cost recovery, funding sustainability, and restricted versus unrestricted resources
  • Lead liquidity, cash flow, funding-gap, and runway forecasting
  • Own the FP&A reporting and analytics roadmap, including dashboards, planning models, data definitions, and management-reporting standards
  • Advance ERP, Power BI, Excel, automation, standardization, and self-service reporting initiatives
  • Establish a single source of truth for management reporting
  • Lead, coach, and develop the East Africa FP&A team
  • Build financial literacy across budget owners through training, templates, guidance, and coaching
  • Partner with the Controller and Accounting Manager on operating models, controls, reporting, treasury, and country finance support
  • Support audits, risk reviews, and special projects assigned by the CFO

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • MBA or relevant master’s degree is an asset
  • CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation is strongly preferred
  • At least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A, business partnering, and people-leadership responsibility
  • Experience leading complex, multi-entity budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and executive performance reporting
  • Experience in an international non-profit, charity, development, or donor-funded environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience with multi-country and multi-currency operations, restricted funds, cost allocation, and funding-sustainability analysis
  • Advanced Excel and financial-modelling capability
  • Strong proficiency with Power BI and modern ERP or financial-management systems
  • Sage Intacct experience is an asset
  • Regular collaboration across global time zones is required
  • Ability to undertake international travel up to 20% of working time
