About the role

  • RBC banking governance director overseeing global worker screening and onboarding controls. Leading HR Operations risk frameworks, change programs, audit remediation, and regional compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of globally consistent worker screening and onboarding processes and controls
  • Act as design authority for standardized worker screening and onboarding processes aligned with RBC policies and regulatory requirements
  • Develop a comprehensive HR Operations control framework covering identity verification, background checks, pre-employment and periodic screening, data integrity, and segregation of duties
  • Oversee the Worker Screening Change Program and Onboarding Process Redesign initiatives
  • Establish and chair the Global Service & Controls Governance Committee
  • Review KPIs, assess regional compliance, address deviations, oversee issue remediation, and escalate material issues
  • Coordinate audit finding remediation, track timely and quality remediation, maintain audit-ready evidence documentation, and provide oversight reporting to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize HR Operations initiatives based on strategic alignment, impact, and delivery requirements

Requirements

  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive innovation strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving process improvements
  • Proven track record driving innovation and process improvements in a large organization
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to communicate innovation strategies and plans to senior leaders, stakeholders, and external partners
  • Ability to craft and deliver compelling stories illustrating the value and impact of innovation initiatives
  • Ability to conduct benefit realization analysis and measure the success of change initiatives
  • Strong understanding of enterprise ORM principles, KRI development, and risk appetite definition
  • Ability to translate risk requirements into effective, testable controls
  • Experience designing control matrices and risk/control alignment
  • Experience managing and implementing change initiatives to improve operational efficiency
  • Familiarity with HR systems, processes, and technologies
  • Experience with audit remediation, operational governance, regulatory remediation, program management, and continuous improvement
