Responsibilities
- Collaborate with peers to develop code aligned with strategic initiatives
- Develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document software components according to requirements and detailed design
- Translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate design phases
- Identify, track, and resolve technical issues
- Create and review technical design documents
- Facilitate meetings to design, troubleshoot, and execute projects
- Participate in walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs, code, and unit test plans
- Conduct unit testing using automated unit testing frameworks
- Improve function performance through performance tuning
- Plan design and implementation activities and ensure technical solution quality
- Provide third-level support for various technologies
- Drive technical platform evolution and improvements
- Present technical topics at regular TSA meetings
- Manage low-level planning of work packages
- Estimate design, coding, and unit-testing activities
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution, focusing on computer science, engineering, or technology
- Eligible to complete a full 12-month co-op term with their school
- Leadership acumen and passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong MS Office skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, platforms, frameworks, design techniques and tools, code management tooling, and/or web technologies
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methods
- Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML) is nice-to-have
- Ability to hand-code all components and cross-browser development experience are nice-to-have
